Ro'Maeve 4/12/05
What is Ro'Maeve?
Ro'Maeve is a Level 70+ area in Final Fantasy XI (Rise of the Zilart required). It
is located on the same continent as Windurst, to the north in a region called Li'Telor.
Why did i write this?
Ro'Maeve is my absolute favorite area in FFXI. It's late, I can't sleep, and I need something
to do. So I decided to write this to tell about my adventures there and why I
like it so much.
How to get there:
Starting from Jeuno...
Port Jeuno > Sauromugue Champaign > Merphataud Mountains > Sanctuary of Zi'Tah > Ro'Maeve
First adventure to Ro'Maeve:
This adventure actually takes place about 7 months ago. As I was heading to Jeuno on the "Windurst path", I noticed an area in Mephataud Mountains
I haven't seen before called Sanctuary of Zi'Tah. Prolly hard to see cause its WAY up in the
north/east part of the map. I was currious, but had no time to go there at that time.
A few weeks went by until I finally decided to see what this area was. So, I took my
level 25 Red Mage to see what this Sanctuary of Zi'Tah was alone. As I neared the zone, I had
an image in my mind as to what this area was. However, when I entered it wasn't anything
like I expected. I invisioned a huge palace in ruins, but it turns out that Zi'tah was
a forest...a forest?! Well, that's not a bad thing, just surprised me. It's actually by far
the prettiest forest in the game. I also noted that the area actually played a song unlike
80 percent of the areas in this game.
First things first, check the map..."you do not posses a map of Sanctuary of Zi'tah". Oh,
that's just great. X_x Meh, not like that was gonna make me turn the chocobo around and leave
after I went through that god awful mountain area. So, I decided to press on not knowing what
would happen to me or where this forest will even lead... or if it would even end. Since I
was all the way to the south, I figured it would be common sense to just head all the way
to the north. Surely I would die if the chocobo were to run away. This is defintly not an area
for a level 25 to be. I must have been traveling through this forest for at least 20 minutes...
mapless. I felt so alone in this place. Not a soul could hear me for miles if I were to shout.
Oh well, I brought it on myself I guess. Everytime I enter a new area I'm unsure about in this
game a thought goes through my mind: "If I truely am to die here, it is my own fault".
There was a rather interesting creature here called a Golem. I belive this is the first time I
saw one. He's a big purple robot thingy which im sure aggros to magic. >_< All the other badguys
were just goblins, dragonflys, mushrooms and things... all IT++, of course.
Finally, I have reached a Home Point guard. If I remember correctly, Bastok was in charge at the
time. Set home point here? HELL YEAH!! Heh.. jk.

My first thoughts... this is FUCKING COOL!! The setting is awsome, the song is just so damn cool!
That uh..weapon over there stairing at me is not. o.o;; Let's see.. how can I describe this area.
It's creepy..in fact so creepy the Brady Guide book writers didn't include it in the guide cause
it prolly scared the crap out of them. It's basically an outside dungeon..It's based on some
type of stone platform that appears to be in ruins. There's lots of trees in the background
with occasional thunder weather. Why is it creepy? It looks like such a peaceful area, but yet
you know something isn't right here. Odd place...
Every enemy here aggros to magic. You got your weapons, magic jars, golems.. fun? First thing I
do? /em starts casting sneak. Then I hear RZZZTRZZT. Oh, smart one, self, NOW ZONE IT!! Damn
weapon hit me at zone and made my hp drop down to red in one hit. Get more HP and try again...
RZZTTZZZ..yep zone it again..fucking weapon, why'd they have to put one AT the zone. Third
time's a charm? RRZZTZT! OR NOT! Ok.. this time I decided to have patience and wait for it to
leave. Yes.. patince.. good...Finally the damn thing didn't aggro this time. I ran around and
explored this area for at least 30 minutes. It's nothing but a huge labyrinth with rooms and
death trap to all mages. Pretty fucking awsome tho. Unfortunately I didn't reach a destination
point my first time here. Let's just say sneak picked a bad time to run out. I cast it again
in a door way and some golem jumped on me and was all RAAAHHHH IMA MAKE RED MAGE BURGER OUT
OF YOU AND EAT YOU RMRMRMRMMR!! I swear, I must have died in one fucking hit, haha!
My second trip back was better since I decided to bring along a map. When I arrived at Ro'Maeve
again I noticed a zone at the top called Hall of the Gods. Interesting... so that's where
it's at. So, I cast sneak and for some godly reason it managed to last the entire time while
I travled to Hall of the Gods.

Hmm... now this place...idk.. I really don't know. Every person that ran through here was level
75, not a level lower, I kid you not. Made me wonder what the hell is on the other side of
the gate which I'm not allowed to go through. Not much to say about this place...church music,
Promathia and ALtania statue. Not much to see or do here. -_- Nice.. graphics tho I guess? I
dunno.. I'm not easily impressed by it.

On a final note(s):
it's hard to write this story when Colin is talking to you about wanting to
fuck mithra, elvaan, and hume chicks and having unlimited dick ammo and sumn about
needing two hours. o_O;; Hell, with unlimited ammo who the fuck needs a break?! (no pun intended).
It's 2 am.. why are we talking about lucky charms shapes and missing cereal characters?
I swear to god if one more Red Mage AF armor casts sneak near me again I'ma beat the
HOLY FUCK OUT OF THE SPEAKERS!!
K... lv 75 Red Mage getting the crap kicked out of him by Killing Weapon. I fear the future!

I'm not much of a story writter...I'm in a weird mood tonight. I just hope the Linkshell would
enjoy reading this because this is a once in a lifetime type deal here.. You won't find me
writting stories. Nope. Never.

....Honestly? I wasn't in a real talkative mood tonight. It's hard to write sumn on the puter
then another keyboard talking to people online. But when the last person left I wish I had
